Instructor Paul with Krav Maga Anchorage

PAUL

Instructor

Paul embarked on his self-defense journey by immersing himself in 5 1/2 years of Hap Kwon Do, a dynamic blend of Kung Fu, Hap Ki Do, and Tae Kwon Do. However, seeking a more contemporary combat approach, he stumbled upon the Israeli Krav Maga Association during his extensive research.

From the moment Paul attended his introductory class, he recognized that he had discovered precisely what he had been seeking. In February 2015, under the tutelage of Cory Davis, Paul commenced his training.

Subsequently, in July 2017, he achieved his Assistant Instructor Certification through David Kahn, the esteemed US Chief Instructor of IKMA. Determined to refine his skills further, Paul ventured to Israel in July 2019, where he honed his craft under the guidance of Grand Master Haim Gidon, eventually obtaining his Instructor Certification. Expanding his horizons, Paul journeyed to New Jersey in November 2019 to train alongside David Kahn, where he successfully undertook his level 5-6 examination and emerged triumphant.

ADRIENNE

Assistant Manager & Instructor

Adrienne began training in June 2020 with one goal: to learn practical, real-world self-defense. She wasn’t interested in competition — she wanted skills that could truly protect her life. Early in her training, a powerful message shifted her perspective: you can be taught how to defend yourself, but you must believe you’re worth saving. That insight became a meaningful part of her personal growth and healing journey.

Since then, training has strengthened her confidence, situational awareness, and ability to remain calm under pressure — skills she has also relied on during her 20-year career as a Flight Attendant.

As both an Assistant Manager and Instructor at Krav Maga Anchorage, Adrienne is committed to creating a welcoming, empowering environment where members feel supported, capable, and confident in their ability to protect themselves.

MICHEL

Assistant Instructor

With over 20 years of martial arts experience, my journey began in childhood with a deep fascination for discipline, movement, and self-mastery. My foundation was built through training in Ninjutsu and Kung Fu Sang Soo, where I developed principles in fluidity, adaptability, and traditional martial structure.

I later dedicated 10 years to J.H. Park Traditional Hapkido under Master Tom Sawyer, refining my skills in joint manipulation, striking, throws, and disciplined technical execution.

Seven years ago, after watching a Krav Maga demonstration that immediately resonated with me, I began my path in Israeli Krav Maga. Drawn to its efficiency, realism, and survival-based mindset, I committed fully to the system.

Today, my training blends traditional martial arts foundations with the practical, real-world effectiveness of Krav Maga. I continue to train with purpose, intensity, and a lifelong commitment to growth.

For him, Krav has become a joint experience where all members of his family can be assets in defense.

MATT

Assistant Instructor

With four years of dedicated practice in Shotokan karate, I have developed a strong foundation in traditional martial arts, focusing on discipline, technique, and physical fitness. Additionally, my experience includes one year of training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, where I learned the importance of grappling and ground fighting techniques. As a military and police officer veteran with 12 years of service, I have gained invaluable insights into real-world confrontation and the need for effective self-defense skills. This background motivates my interest in Krav Maga, as it is a martial art designed for realistic self-defense scenarios, emphasizing practical techniques that are applicable in actual confrontations. My diverse experiences drive me to seek out training that is not only effective but also relevant to the challenges I may face in everyday life.

MISHAH

Assistant Instructor & Front Desk

I started martial arts when I was just three years old. What began as something my parents encouraged for self-defense quickly became a huge part of who I am. It taught me discipline, confidence, and how to stay strong in an ever-changing world.

I trained for six years in Taekwondo at J.H. Park Taekwondo under Master Tom Sawyer, where I built my foundation in technique, speed, flexibility, and respect for the art.

For the past seven years, I’ve trained in Israeli Krav Maga, focusing on real-world self-defense, awareness, and learning how to stay calm under pressure.

Martial arts isn’t just something I do — it’s part of how I carry myself every day. It’s helped shape my character, strengthen my mindset, and push me to keep growing both on and off the mat.
